Dr. Kade Shumway Lyman was born and raised in Blanding, UT and we are excited to welcome him to Kane County Hospital. He received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, where he graduated with honors, and moved on to the University of Utah School of Medicine for his M.D. program.
After graduating, Dr. Kade Lyman was an orthopedic surgery resident at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He then completed his Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Taos Orthopedic Institute. Through their well-known program, he perfected his craft at sports-related surgeries including minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery and joint replacements.
To further add to his resume and expertise, Dr. Lyman was the team physician for the men’s and women’s Downhill World Cup Finals in Courcheval, France in 2022 and worked closely with the US Ski and Snowboard teams. Throughout his education and experience, Dr. Kade Lyman has become an incredibly talented and proficient sports medicine trained Orthopedic Surgeon. His patients have ranged from professional athletes to local high school football players to local community members.
He is available to serve our community by performing procedures involving sports medicine, trauma, and joint replacements on the shoulder, including reverse total shoulder, knee and hip (using the anterior hip replacement method), carpal tunnel release, ulnar nerve release and decompression, trigger finger release, along with many other orthopedic needs. He also provides steroid joint injections for pain relief.
With Dr. Kade Lyman and our trained surgical staff we are looking forward to providing a total joint replacement program in the coming months. This program will provide comprehensive patient centered care for the patient and their family. Our program will educate and involve the patient and family every step of the way. The interdisciplinary team will guide all involved to a more successful outcome and will help to restore the patient to a higher quality of life.
Three members of our surgical staff have worked with Dr. Kade Lyman over the past two years, which included getting set up for his arrival and working with him in the OR. We are excited to be able to work with him again and are looking forward to implementing his total joint replacement program here at Kane County Hospital.
