We have an outstanding Hospital Auxiliary! Through the sale of donated items, this wonderful group of volunteers has supported the hospital with over $3,500,000 since the Kane County Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store opened in 1990. These funds have helped with the purchase of much-needed equipment including an ambulance, a Panda warmer (bedside newborn warmer/monitor), infusion pumps, CT and Ultrasound machines, and more.
If you enjoy a good treasure hunt, the Thrift Store located at 41 South 100 East in Kanab is the place to be! Its open Monday – Saturday: 10 am – 4 pm with donations gratefully accepted anytime between 10 am – 3 pm at the back of the building.
The Thrift Store (also lovingly referred to as the Kanab Mall) is a treasure in this town, in more ways than one. The generous donations from the folks of Kanab and surrounding area towns make it possible for every customer to find something they can’t live without (or something they didn’t even know they needed!).
The most valuable treasure of the Thrift Store are the volunteers who work a minimum of one three-hour weekly shift. Volunteering provides not only help for the hospital, but also laughs, friendships, community and, of course, a front row seat for shopping!
The volunteers work countless hours and take great pride in the store and their assigned departments. Visitors are often heard making comments about the quality of items for sale and the cleanliness and organization of the store. The Thrift Store is a model for success in every aspect from sorting donations to breaking sales records.
Visit the Thrift Store today and meet some of the amazing volunteers who make the store so fun and successful and thank them for their dedication and hard work! And, of course, speak with a manager about Volunteering.
Undoubtedly their secret to success is the love they have for this community and the respect they have for each other. They have a desire to serve in a capacity that benefits their community and the Thrift Store does that in a BIG way. They have fun, they laugh and joke while they are “working,” sorting donations and displaying them as treasures for customers to find. Some even say that it really isn’t work.
Volunteer today and join in the fun! Visit the Thrift Store at 41 South 100 East and fill out an application with a manager. One 3-hour shift once a week and minimum age of 18 are the only requirements.
