Job Summary:

The Revenue Cycle Manager oversees and manages the daily operations of the business office and registration within Kane County Hospital, a critical access hospital, focusing on hospital billing, revenue cycle management, and registration processes. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate billing, timely revenue collections, and effective supervision of the business office team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital billing, revenue cycle management, and supervisory experience to ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the hospital’s revenue cycle, including billing, collections, claims processing, patient registration, and prior authorizations.
- Supervise the business office team, including billing specialists, registration staff, and financial counselors, ensuring smooth workflow and high levels of productivity.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of claims to insurance companies, Medicare, and Medicaid, and follow up on any issues or denials.
- Oversee patient registration processes, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with hospital standards.
- Monitor and analyze financial data and reports related to the revenue cycle, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Stay up to date on healthcare regulations, reimbursement guidelines, and coding practices to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, finance department, and other hospital departments to optimize the revenue cycle and improve overall financial performance.
- Provide training, mentoring, and development opportunities for business office staff.
- Manage the collections process, ensuring proper follow-up and resolution of outstanding balances.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for the business office that enhance efficiency and ensure best practices.
- Manage all aspects of HER to ensure accurate billing processes.
- Assist with budget preparation and financial reporting related to the business office.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a hospital business office or healthcare revenue cycle environment.
- Extensive knowledge of hospital billing processes, Medicare and Medicaid regulations, and private insurance claims.
- Experience with revenue cycle management, including accounts receivable, patient billing, and collections.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and hospital management systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various hospital departments to meet financial goals.
Preferred Skills:
- Certified Revenue Cycle Professional (CRCP) or similar certification.
- Knowledge of critical access hospital (CAH) billing practices.
- Proficiency with hospital billing software and revenue cycle tools.
