Currently there are approximately 60 basic and intermediate EMTs serving Kane County, Utah and northern Arizona. These dedicated individuals respond to emergency calls over approximately 6,000 square miles. Kane County EMTs are quasi volunteer, meaning most of them hold full time jobs and respond to ambulance calls after work, on weekends or when necessary from their place of employment. They don’t do it for the money but rather to be of service to their communities and visiting travelers.
We have base response teams in Kanab, Alton/Cedar Mountain, Glendale/Orderville/Mt. Carmel and Big Water, all are located in Kane County. Our Emergency Medical Technicians also respond to: Fredonia, Grand Canyon North Rim, House Rock Valley, Jacob Lake and Lee’s Ferry, AZ.
