Kane County Hospital always enjoys having the opportunity to showcase our areas young artists. We are closing 2018 with young artists from the Kanab Arts program. Jennifer Andrews’ statement is below and says it all. Jen’s kid’s art work will be on display from December 19 through January 15, 2019.
Jennifer explains, “In the past the students in Kanab Art (KanabArt.com) have learned to draw an image and then paint their creation using color theory, texture, perspective etc. This year our class tried something new. The students got a taste of tapping into their own creativity. With a few basic guidelines and utilizing past lessons like color theory the students painted layer upon layer of inspirational words, shapes, quotes, colors and ideas. Traditionally, students are taught to following specific lessons in both life and school. In my art class kids learn to tap into their imagination and have confidence in their decisions. They are encouraged to use art for self-expression and connect colors with their emotions. Art class is a time for students to quiet their rational mind and awaken their intuitive mind.”
We will be hosting our Valley Kids, under the leadership of Connie Goulding, beginning January 16 through February 19, 2019.
Please join us for the Kanab Art reception on December 27th at 5:30 pm, in the hospital lobby, for the Kanab Art students. Please plan on parking in the north (employee and guest parking area) parking lot. While the hospital is progressing through the remodel project the main entrance will temporarily be re-routed to the north parking. Signs directing traffic and access will be posted.
No KCH welcomes the Kanab Young Artists listed at this time.
