Kane County Hospital’s Healing Arts is hosting Tom Forsythe and his still photographs and Justyne Moore and her graphic designs and photographs beginning September 15th.
Forsythe is quoted as saying, “Like any sensitive soul I wanted the world to embrace my creative vision – but it never did enough to pay the bills. Even after Mattel sued me and I enjoyed millions of dollars in free publicity, sales were minimal. It was a turning point really. Give up the money - just create. I keep my day job running the Little Hollywood Museum, Trading Post & Chuckwagon Cookout to stay alive and make Healing Visions & Earth Elements to share the spirit of Tao.
“Healing Visions grew from forays into the desert for still photo sessions with my friends Jack Haley and Michael Gentle, who ran Kanab’s Center Street Gallery. They both produced stunning Cibachrome prints and taught me a lot about the patience of creative vision.
“In the end, I can spew a lot of hyperbole and rationale but it all comes down to the fact that I want to be one with nature and I want to depict that in my work and be that in my life.”
Some of Tom’s exhibitions include: Art on Trial at Thomas Jefferson Center for the Protection of Free Expression, Charlottesville, VA- Running now; Interventionist Collage at the University of Iowa Museum of Art; An New Photography, The Barrett House Gallery, Poughkeepsie, NY, The Dishman Competition, Dishman Art Museum, Lamar University, Beaumont, TX.
Justyne Moore enjoys capturing the beauty that surrounds her, “Living in Southern Utah, Kanab, I am surrounded by the most breathtaking scenery.”
She loves photographing the beauty of Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, and countless slot canyons. Moore also volunteers at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, and enjoys photographing Angel Canyon, and the animals at the sanctuary.
